Tracey Lopes is a writer and director based in London.

​

Her debut short documentary MOTHERLAND won Best New Talent: Documentary at the BFI Future Film Festival 2020.

 

She went on to write and direct THE GIRLS' ROOM, a coming-of-age short film that won Best Screenplay at SOUL x American Black Film Festival and was officially selected for BFI London Film Festival, Aesthetica, and Norwich Film Festival 2023.

In 2023, Tracey was named a Film London Lodestar Writer. Since then, she directed an episode of DRUNK HISTORIES: BLACK STORIES Season 2 for Comedy Central, took part in a director shadowing scheme on Season 2 of Disney+’s EXTRAORDINARY, and directed THE SCORE, a dystopian coming-of-age short for Four8 Films.

Passionate about telling untold stories and bringing fresh perspectives to the screen, she is currently developing a slate of projects for film and television.
